Travelling

Australia

Many a backpacker is willing to pack their life into a single rucksack and head off in search of a country with a difference. Looking to experience a new culture and a break from the monotony back home, Australia offers an experience of a life time. It is portrayed as wild and vast;extreme heats and distances to be travelled.
As I sat holding a mug of coffe at 5am awaiting a lift to spend a day picking grapes, I realised that within a short distance from the small village of Donnybrook there were national parks, endless miles of beach and wild kangaroos.

kings_canion Compared to Asia, backpacking across this great continent is safe and easy. Tours guides wait at bus stations ready to provide accommodation, information and book tours by boat, helicopter or four wheel drive. Many hostel had pools, satellite T.V. and the internet. The Grey hound bus service is a cheap means to travel from A to B and stops a both major and minor places of interest.

For the more adventuous spirited, I would suggest leaving the bars and cities behind and head off into the outback. Bush style camping and trecks with an experienced guide is a great way to see the real Australia.
